Don't forget...

To check out our new updated website, here: http://www.honeybournejewellery.com/

Hello Honeybourne followers!

I'm back again this week with some special commissions to keep you in the loop, enjoy!

Firstly, another taste of some of the most recent bridal work I've created- a bridal necklace and bridesmaids pendants. Also shown, little girls bracelets with silver buttons at the back, which included their initials.

A daisy lover ordered this sweet piece and I made it up in silver and 18ct gold.

Lilies as bridesmaids gifts
These pieces were made in solid silver, a lily for each little flower (the five bridesmaids)- cute!

Mock ups
Here's a little insight into the (very simple!) commissioning process. After discussing design ideas with the client I made these silver mock ups to make a choice from, they will then be made up in gold, with Garnets and Aquamarine.

Next up- Recycled jewellery!
Using this old jewellery I made two pairs of studs and two rings using gold, diamonds and sapphires. Take a peek...

Also this week I've finished two pendants, which are to be donated to charity 'Molly's Fund' in memory of Molly Lane Fox, a little girl who was diagnosed with Diffuse Pontine Glioma and sadly passed away in 2008. A regular customer who was organising an event for the fund, approached me about creating two pieces for Molly's sisters to wear. As the cause was close to my heart I was pleased to contribute. Below the finished pieces can be seen:

That's all for now but be sure to check back for updates because we will soon be announcing an exciting summer event!

Everyone's busy at the boutique

It's not just me that's creating lovely little pieces in our workshop, this week Raff put his hand to some ring making and the results were brilliant. The rings, made in silver, encompassed a love message stamped on the outside of the band.

This silver Dove piece is a copy of a lady's tattoo made into an item that can be worn as a brooch or as a pendant.

This gold acorn is a man's pendant, which I made for him from his wife's broken engagement ring- this can be seen below...

That's all for now lovelies.

2011!

2011 is set to be another exciting year for Honeybourne Jewellery. The business will certainly be seeing a lot more of both Sophie and Raff, working together in the beautiful Honeybourne hub nestled in the up and coming island town of Ventnor. The pair will also be releasing new collections later in 2011, incorporating Sophie’s typical organic, natural styling with quirky pieces for the home, bookmarks and recycled jewellery using inherited gold and stones.

Raff is now taking over the majority of tasks involving the making of enamels, whilst Sophie is really looking forward  to working on even more bespoke commissions, which are already coming in thick and fast. Sophie is also going back to her sketch pad and is going to be creating a brand new collection which she hopes will be ready for the shop in Spring 2011. Watch this space!

January

Returning from Bali to Ventnor, with its typical British seaside weather, was in some ways a warm welcome home and a cue to get back in the boutique.

-More lovely commissions and ideas to form!

First up was a 25th Wedding Anniversary gift. The ring was made with 25 gold hammered gold beads clustered within this oxidized pod ring made from inherited gold. The studs match, and finish the look perfectly.

Freshwater pearl- these pieces are part of a sneak preview to a new collection that Sophie is working on at the moment. Using natural looking fresh water pearl, Sophie has suspended these pieces within a formed silver link. Keep an eye out for more pieces with a similar feel…

Personalised love bangles- originally for a customer order that asked for “bambi legs”, Sophie designed and made more bangles that have a message running across the outside. The message is very subtle and looks, from a distance, like a surface pattern, which makes for a delicate, pretty piece.

‘Ruby love’- this silver ring with a facet cut ruby was created for a Ruby Wedding Anniversary present in classic Honeybourne style.

Here is a more unusual request, a lovely lady wanted to commission an 'old fashioned nail file', because she had apparently lost her husband's favourite! The piece is solid silver and the tag added a bit of fun to the design.

A selection of fun, bold, and free flowing charms for a brilliant 18th birthday present. They felt lovely and chunky when finished and the shop had another happy customer!

December commissions

December has been busy as ever for the Honeybourne Jewellery boutique, with Christmas approaching the end of the month and a variety of clients to cater for. Sophie created some beautiful, bespoke gifts over the holiday period before jetting of to Bali for her and husband Raff’s belated honeymoon!

Here’s a peek at a selection of the treats Sophie spoiled us with.

Our first commission was a stunning 9ct and 18ct gold ring, a 9ct white gold band hosted an 18ct yellow pod and setting, which encased two rainbow moonstones.

Next was a choice, perhaps, for the gentleman that has everything- a personalised solid silver money clip. This gift seemed particularly popular and is now part of our men’s gift collection in the boutique.

Emerald and diamond- this 9ct gold band and cube insets, with 18ct yellow overlay and settings, surround two princess cut diamonds and a carre cut emerald. The customer asked for a creation that evoked art deco styling, but of course, with a Honeybourne twist.

Pretty pearls- the customer commissioned a set of pink pearls, asking for a deconstructed shell shape to set off a delicate pink pearl. Sophie also produced a matching pair of pink pearl studs, as shown below.

A customer ordered this elegant crucifix, which was set with Ruby, the birthstone for December.
